hey 9 fans out there!
if I were to advertise these stitchpunk plush commissions I’m doing via tumblr, would anyone be interested? it would be properly set up like any other commission post if it does happen. I’m just not sure how many of y’all are here and how effective it would be, so I’m putting this up to try and find out before I jump into doing that.
by the way I am going to field school later this summer in Romania, and I’m kind of trying to amass some money to sustain myself with. in case what I currently have saved up doesn’t work out as enough. so. the money from these would go towards that.
Alright so I am definitely going to take a stab at doing a 9 fanmix, and to get some inspiration going I’m going to go ahead and raise the question, what songs make you think about 9? I’m curious! Though I have the beginnings of a lineup, I might like to bolster the list if I see some stuff that I think gels with what I’m trying to accomplish in terms of tone. Also I am just genuinely curious, haha.
My idea, I think, is start off with pieces that are kind of melancholic, slow and moody, then transition into something more powerful and heavy, perhaps a little industrial, and then finish off with something light, soothing and ambient.

no please, keep trying, i encourage you to keep telling people what you feel about the movie, because that’s the important stuff. For some of us this movie has a really deep meaning, we found wonderful things thanks to this movie, people, places, things we now love thanks to the movie etc. It is good that you are reminding them why they love this movie in first place, i know what you mean when you think it was “useless” but for some of us, every time someone joins their fandom, even when someone says they like the same thing you liked it feels great, it makes you remember why you liked it and why you joined it and first of all why you love it.
So don’t give up, there are some of us that are still out there, most of us are already working in their own things, or they are watching other shows they like, but that doesn’t mean they have forgotten how much they like the movie. We are just dormant for now? Never loose hope, there’s a lot of potential in this universe that i don’t think people will give up easily okay?

my biggest fandom (as in the one i was most into) up until now was an offshoot of pokemon, a certain set of triplets i adore and their fandom is literally almost dead except for weeaboos who pair their ocs with them
but there was a time when there was a landslide of new art and things every day
and i thought maybe i could
try to rile things back up again and help it thrive again
like a motivational speaker or something just
spark interest in creating things again because i almost sorta semi did it before with another fandom and
i dont know maybe you guys dont need some stupid 5-obsessed hopeful idiot trying to get things to be as lively as it was when the movie came out

Woah hey friend don’t say that, don’t be discouraged! You’re way over thinking it. Your goofy 9 blog has made a lot of people laugh and brought us back some really good memories of the film, you’ve done a good thing and you should be proud of that.
We’re just a fairly small, reserved fandom that has been around for a few years and is from a series that is not getting any new media produced. So at this point in our fandom’s life cycle, and in large part due in part to the nature of our source material, a big chunk of what is keeping the fandom chugging along is fan theory and fan characters. I guess that is part of the reason why it was difficult to find us in the first place, we’re a little, uh, underground.
So if people aren’t getting riled up in the way you want it’s not because you’re not doing something right or because we don’t want new people (WE LOVE NEW PEOPLE!), it’s just that we are no longer the perky bosomed maiden of a fandom we once were. This doesn’t mean we’re a nasty old crone either, though, we’re more like a fine, matured lady. That sometimes writes smutty fanfic about rag doll people.
Realistically we probably won’t regain the thunder of our fandom’s infancy but that doesn’t mean don’t come in. I’m looking forward to seeing content from you, it’s always good to see people doing stuff with the canon cast. The best way to liven up things is to just do what you’re doing - talk about the movie, get to know people and produce content, and to do it as long as you are having fun.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT ( Hiatus)
Well guys wasn’t this nice? these past months of drawings and awesome characters and great artists sharing their art with each other?, sadly im about to say that a Hiatus has been decided by both of the admins (shep and i).
It doesn’t mean we are going to close the blog, in fact the first challenge is still up and you can post your character refs or talk about your characters or new characters whenever you want to. IN FACT if you want to come back and practice with any other challenge of the past months, go crazy, if you want to try again with the palette challenge, go ahead, if you want to practice facial expressions give it a shot.
Shep and i have been busy with life, school and personal projects and we don’t have a lot of time to check or work for the blog anymore ( it is sad but it is true, i wouldn’t lie to you guys). Personally i’ve been invaded with end of semester projects, and these take most of my free time as well. We are just not sure if we can generate or sort through submissions for the coming months so this month ( April) will have a last challenge prompt and after that the hiatus will commence. I’ll announce the challenge with it’s respective example this week, so stay tunned!
